The House of (DE-FI)ance is a first of its kind, one-stop fashion fablab and is the leading, and most effective business of fashion networking experience in the country for the fashion community. With temporary private locations in Cincinnati and Dayton, The House of (DE-FI)ance is a semi-public/members only experience that directly correlates to the needs of participants of (DE-FI)'s Fashion Incubator and our Strategic Partners.
(DE-FI) announced plans for this space in 2016 which included public planning session in 2017, and when our doors officially opened in March of 2021, the House of (DE-FI)ance: A Fashion & Design Co-Working Experience became the home of the world's first comprehensive interdisciplinary fashion co-working space; a business hub created by and for the fashion community; a combination of professional and educational opportunities, promoting community, competition, collaboration, and connection.
Today, we are an innovative and groundbreaking one stop Fablab created to help fashion professionals establish, develop, and grow their brand. Our House is where team and brand building take place by reverse engineering the process(yeah we know, now EVERYBODY is using that term too to describe their fashion process, reverse engineering has been our process and proven formula since 2014. The experience, reverse engineering, team and brand building are the keys to success for anyone seeking a career in fashion.
Membership Eligibility
Membership to the House of (DE-FI)ance: A Fashion & Design Co-working Experience is by Invitation Only and is open to aspiring, emerging, and established designers,photographers, models, business professionals, makeup artists, pattern makers, stylists, illustrators, videographers, fashion show producers, writers, sewists, tailors, bespoke, textile makers, and more who are being intentional about their professional development and proactive about developing the needed connections. It's imperative that we are very intentional with our members. Our goal is to ensure that aspiring, emerging, and established talent who are genuinely interested in seeking a career in fashion are not lost amongst those seeking membership for entertainment.
Since 2013, (DE-FI) has worked to foster and empower individuals seeking a career in fashion regardless of their demographics by providing grassroots educational, entrepreneurial, and artistic opportunities. For over 10 years, we've consistently dedicated our time and resources into developing an inclusive and supportive community that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and innovative problem-solving. Membership to the House of (DE-FI)ance provides a passport to a vibrant community where your passion for fashion and community building is celebrated and your individuality takes center stage. .

Membership Process
Due to the high profile resources that we have established relationships with, our members must be properly vetted to optimize the membership experience and keep our legacy of advancing careers in fashion going strong.
All potential members must complete an Invitation Request and be interviewed by our selection panel. Once your membership has been approved, we will send you a link to pay your annual membership dues and complete your customizable profile on our members only fashion directory, and begin networking with like-minded individuals.
Expected Membership Outcomes:
Every member of the House of (DE-FI)ance will receive a customizable profile page via our online directory where they will be able to share the details of their work, provide details of how fellow members can get involved, connect with those who align with your vision and goals, reach to clients, receive exclusive access to (DE-FI) produced experiences, and so much more!
Access, team/brand building, and networking are the keys to success for both the designers in our incubators and our members. All are needed as a part of the process. Membership to the House of (DE-FI)ance revises and broadens the mission of (DE-FI) Global INC by developing new and consistent programming that reflects the next level of growth and service needed for local and regional fashion, design, textile, retail, and creative communities.

The House of (DE-FI)ance: A Fashion & Design Co-working Experience brings you an educational and networking experience like no other, from sewing wokshops, Brain Dating, to After-School Experiences. There's something for everyone at every stage of growth.
A key part of our mission is to provide some consistent opportunities for Business to Business, Business to Customer, and Customer to Business referrals and more to nourish relationships that form naturally. Our House helps to foster and create meaningful relationships among our members because member introductions and one on one meetings offer unique opportunities to share who we are and how we can benefit one another.
Designed to provide an open, honest, and transparent look into the industry, the House of (DE-FI)ance is an educational, business, event, co-working and makers space that serves as a retail and business hub providing an environment for you to get serious about your craft, grow your skills, and build your team.
At the House of (DE-FI)ance, you will:
- Improve communication skills and become more comfortable with networking to form collaborations via our Brain Dayton and Business Club Edible Edification Experiences.
- Connect with business professionals with the skills you need to establish, build, and grow your business while also establishing, developing, and improving your image with The Dreamforce.
- Have access to space, resources, and support dedicated to your success by connecting with sewists and tailors to help develop a prototype and produce your work; connecting with photographers, Hair and Makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, and models needed to help bring your campaign to life; connecting with graphic designer to develop your website, logo, editorial publication and etc.; connecting with writers to help tell your story, develop content for your website, promotional materials and etc. in our House.
